What we do

Music-led wellbeing, never clinical therapy. Four ways in, plus a real room to make noise in. Take the one that fits today, and change your mind whenever you like.

Music sessions

Relaxed group singing, listening and creative participation. We set up microphones and lyrics, and you join in only when you feel ready. Nobody is put on the spot, and listening is still taking part.

Creative workshops

Songwriting, lyric writing, recording and our Two Wolves reflection work. Turn a feeling into words, a line into a chorus, a quiet voice into a recorded one.

Supported rehearsal:
a room to rebuild in

This is not simply free rehearsal for regular customers. It is CIC-supported access for people who use music and rehearsal as a positive outlet, where there is a clear wellbeing or community benefit.

  • Musicians using rehearsal for mental wellbeing
  • Bands rebuilding confidence after a hard patch
  • People who need a safe creative outlet
  • Groups who benefit from positive peer connection
How to ask: tell us a little about you and why rehearsal would help. Every supported session is recorded discreetly so we can keep it free or subsidised and show funders the difference it makes.

Do I need any musical experience to come to Smashroom?

No. Most people who join have never sung or played an instrument before. You can listen, sing, write, play or record, whatever feels right, and you only ever join in when you are ready.

Is it free to take part?

Our community music and wellbeing sessions are free or low cost, and supported rehearsal access is free or subsidised depending on your circumstances. Get in touch and we will find a way to make it work.

Where in Telford is Smashroom based?

We are at Unit 47, Ketley Business Park, Telford, TF1 5JD, easy to reach from across Telford, Wellington, Oakengates and the wider Shropshire area.

Who is it for?

Adults across Telford and Shropshire, especially anyone facing isolation, anxiety, low confidence, bereavement or neurodiversity. Everyone is welcome, whatever your background or ability.

Do I need to play an instrument or read music?

Not at all. Singing, writing lyrics, recording or simply being in the room all count. There is no audition and no pressure to perform.

Can I be referred through social prescribing?

Yes. We welcome self-referrals and referrals from GPs, social prescribers, support workers and community mental health teams across Telford and Wrekin. Just ask and we will explain the next step.
